"Coronation Scot" luxury coaches in blue and silver livery were introduced in 1937 for the premier fast LMS service between London Euston and Glasgow in response to the LNER "Coronation" express. The full rake was of nine coaches was painted to match the streamlined Stanier Coronation Pacific Locos. The service ceased at the outbreak of World War 2 and the coaches stored until after the war, when they were returned to service on "the best passenger trains", but repainted into LMS maroon livery. Thy continued in use until with early 1960s when, with the exception of two RKs converted to Inspection Saloons which survive in preservation, all were scrapped.

- RTO - Restaurant Open Third
