The Loco

Express Passenger Services - primarily in Scotland

Operated primarily with Mark 1 2 coaches in blue / grey livery

Sixteen Class 47/4 locos were converted in the early 1980s to Class 47/7 by fitting of push pull equipment for use on initially Edinburgh-Glasgow express services, and subsequently additionally between Glasgow in Aberdeen. Subsequently used on more general duties and some moved to the Southeast for conventional operation. The converted locos could be distinguished by the addition of connecting "jumper" cables on either side of both cab ends as represented on this model.
